Community Guidelines

Last updated: July 1, 2026. These guidelines help keep Urban Garden Atlas safe, useful, and focused on real small urban gardens.

What belongs here

Share real small urban gardens: balconies, rooftops, patios, windowsills, indoor apartment gardens, sidewalk planters, community garden plots, and other compact city spaces.

Be respectful

Use respectful language. Do not submit harassment, hate, threats, or content that targets people or communities.

No fake submissions, spam, or ads

Do not submit invented gardens, promotional listings, keyword spam, affiliate content, or ads.

Protect privacy

Do not include exact addresses, children’s faces, private documents, license plates, or photos of people who did not consent.

Keep it safe and legal

Do not submit cannabis, marijuana, controlled substances, or regulated plant-growing instructions. Do not include illegal content, unsafe balcony/roof/structural advice, or advice that could encourage dangerous building, electrical, fire, chemical, water, or drainage practices. Do not submit content that violates local law, lease rules, HOA rules, building rules, or safety codes.

Photo and story permission

Only share photos, stories, and descriptions you own or have permission to submit. You keep ownership of the photos, stories, and information you submit, but you give Urban Garden Atlas permission to review, moderate, edit for privacy/safety/clarity, translate, publish, display, promote, and share approved content as part of the site and related Urban Garden Atlas channels.

Moderation

New submissions remain pending until reviewed. Approved submissions may be edited for formatting, privacy, safety, clarity, or moderation, and may be removed later if needed.

For moderation questions, removal requests, or correction requests, email admin@urbangardenatlas.com.

Moderated garden questions

Garden owners may opt in to receive moderated visitor questions. Questions are reviewed before they are sent to an owner or published. Owner answers are reviewed before publication. We may edit questions and answers for privacy, safety, clarity, formatting, and moderation. Private asker and owner emails are not shown publicly. Inappropriate questions may be rejected, abusive emails may be blocked, and published Q&A becomes part of the public site. You can request removal or correction at admin@urbangardenatlas.com.

Age rule

Urban Garden Atlas is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit personal information if you are under 13. If you are under 18, use the site only with permission from a parent or guardian.
